May 04 2020 Rethinking Our Processes and Procedures for Essential Works at Cardiff Mail Centre Demolition Blog SuperUser Account Cardiff Mail CentreCovid-19 demolitionDemolition CardiffDemolition Wales We completed a project at Cardiff Mail Centre, the main headquarters and sorting office for Royal Mail in Cardiff, Wales and one of the main mail centres for the southwest of the United Kingdom. It required a complete rethink of processes and procedures due to the Covid-19 pandemic, requiring new working conditions for our employees to ensure they were able to stay safe and to meet Government guidelines. Our project photographs show the adaptations made to ensure that this essential work could go ahead. This included a dedicated sanitising operative. We also sourced additional equipment to ensure that 2m distancing was maintained throughout. Use of reciprocating saw to prevent sparks/fire risk Social distancing was maintained throughout the project The works involved boiler and high-level air handling ductwork removal from within the operational, streamline and delivery zones. These works were carried out out-of-hours due to the continuing operational nature of the premises. A permit was required for working at height and with hot works too. A HUGE THANK YOU is due to our team for carrying out these essential works to keep the country moving forward during these unprecedented times.
