PROJECT SCOPE

Following on from our successful Phase 1 works, we secured the Phase II Tram Extension scheme which saw the existing route from the M1 through to Nottingham City Centre extended from Nottingham City Centre, through the Meadows and out to Beeston town centre and also linking the main Nottingham Accident and Emergency Hospital. The scheme consisted of the phased Demolition of 80+ structures varying from former private dwellings, industrial units, office, shopping complex and elderly persons and educational structures to enable commencement of Nottingham tram infrastructure.

High-level Summary of Project

The overall scheme included:- Liaising with client representatives;

Weekly progress /planning meetings;

Preparation of RAMS specific to each site by in-house Demolition Engineer;

Arranging for refurb/demolition asbestos survey specific to each structure;

Arranging for disconnection of all services specific to each site;

Assignment of public protection measures specific to each site;

Asbestos removal phase to each specific site;

Demolition by mixture of hand/brokk (robotic) and mechanical (including high reach) specific to each site;

Nottingham City Highways to agree proposed traffic management and planning condition issues;

Installation of full public protection measures incl. full height demolition spec scaffold and crash decking etc;

Installation of designed raking props to party walls;

Asbestos removal;

Hand separation; Normal demolition rig and High reach demolition operations;

Dust containment –on-board suppression systems to excavator + supplementary bowser with spray mist attachment;

closed type ‘Heras’ fencing;

Water management;

Spillage controls
